Your child has access to the school version of Lukulumo. It’s a digital, multilingual picture and audiobook service available to your child both at school and at home.
• With Lukulumo, every reader and learner will fi nd suitable reading material from a variety of books on diff erent topics and lengths.
• Reading can be supported in various ways: books can be listened to, text tracking can be used, reading speed can be adjusted, and more.
• In addition to Finnish, books can be listened to in various languages (over 70 diff erent languages!). Children have the ability to learn multiple languages simultaneously.
• The books are selected with the expertise of children’s literature professionals.
Getting Started:
• Access via browser at app.lukulumo.fi or you can download the Lukulumo application from the app store (AppStore / Google Play). Lukulumo can be used on multiple devices simultaneously.
• Students receive a username and password from the school.
Logging into Lukulumo through MPASSiD authentication:
1. Choose MPASSiD from the login page.
2. Select your school from the drop-down menu.
3. Log in using the organization credentials provided by the school.
Lets Boost the Reading Interest together with Lukulumo:
• Assist your child in fi nding suitable reading material and allocate time for reading.
• Let your child use Lukulumo’s aids (listening, text tracking, adjusting reading speed).
• Include Lukulumo in family reading sessions. Discuss what’s been read, take turns reading aloud, and have fun impersonating diff erent characters. Even a child who has already learned to read will enjoy and benefi t from listening to a book being read aloud.
• Read in diff erent situations: on bus journeys, during forest walks, during waiting times. Lukulumo also works offl ine once the chosen book is downloaded in advance.
